Is Life Coaching the same thing as Therapy?

A Life Coach offers services that are very different from those provided by a therapist. Life Coaches typically work with clients who are not in crisis, are ready to take action, and would like accountability and support to keep moving them forward.

When might therapy be a better option?

Issues of abuse, addiction, depression, and childhood trauma will be better served through therapeutic counseling sessions rather than Life Coaching.

How will I know if Life Coaching is a good fit for me?

The method by which we can discover whether Life Coaching is a good fit is to engage in a free exploratory session. During this introduction, we will look at your goals and challenges in order to determine if Life Coaching would be beneficial.

How much time does effective Life Coaching take?

Research shows that significant progress happens in three weeks, but lasting change in behavior requires an average of 45-80 days of consistent reinforcement. Follow-up, supplemental reinforcement and long-term strategy is crucial, especially for major changes. My Life Coaching package durations are based on this research.

Is there a set fee?

I offer several packages, so there is no one price point. Click here to view the packages offered. If none of my standard packages seem to be a good fit, we can customize a flexible plan to suit your needs. I am happy to answer any questions so that you can make an informed choice.

Where are you located?

I have two locations, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Santa Cruz, California. If you are in Minneapolis/St. Paul, we will meet in my office at 2945 44th Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN, 55406 for the initial sessions. If you live near or in Santa Cruz, I am available in person for three months during the winter. If you live outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, we will conduct all of our sessions via phone or Skype.

Will we always have to meet in person?

Some packages of Life Coaching arrange for initial in-person visits to be followed by sessions via skype or phone, or a mix of all three.
